What can the MIU help with?
Our local Minor Injury Units (MIUs) offer advice and treatment for a variety of injuries including cuts, grazes, wounds, sprains, strains and minor burns.
Visiting an MIU can be faster and easier than going to A&E - and helps our local emergency services focus on life-threatening injuries.
We recommend patients call NHS 111 before their visit, so a trained adviser can assess their symptoms and, if appropriate, make them an appointment at the MIU.
Patients can also walk-in to our local MIU services - but they should be aware that those with appointments may be seen first, depending on the severity of their injury.
Remember - if in doubt, call 111.
