If you require a routine, non-urgent appointment, please call reception at any time to book a routine appointment that best suits your needs. You can also complete an online request for an appointment, which gets sent directly to the admin team for action, we aim to respond to these queries the same day.

If you have an urgent health concern, we advise calling as early as possible to enable our reception team to book the most appropriate appointment for you as soon as possible.

If you have the NHS app you will automatically have access to all records, including test results, from after 6th September 2023.

If you would like access to all records you will need to complete an online access form, which can be collected from dispensary. Once completed please return it, in person and bring a form of photo ID with you. Once your access has been changed, please allow 24 hours for the app to update. You will also be able to view your records online via patient access.

Periods of absence from work of less than a week do not require a doctor’s certificate. You are able to self certify for the first week.

After the first week, you can obtain a doctor’s certificate or FIT note through a consultation with your doctor. If you are under the care of a consultant or specialist, you could ask them to issue your certificate.

You can also request a FIT note online. Your request will be sent directly to the admin team and then reviewed by a doctor.

If you have the NHS app, all test results will appear once they have been reviewed by a doctor.

If your test was requested by a specialist, the result will be sent back to them and you should contact them directly for the result. We are unable to provide feedback or advice regarding results from tests requested by other clinicians. These test results will also not appear on your medical record held with us, but should show on your NHS app.

Sometimes when we receive your results the doctor may decide they would like to discuss the results with you, if this is the case, we will contact you to make an appointment.

Please note we do not receive scan or x-ray images, only written reports completed by a radiologist.

Please help us by coming to the surgery whenever possible. We do understand that some patients may not have easy access to transport, but this is not in itself a valid reason to request a home visit.

Home visits take the doctors a great deal more time than surgery consultations and sometimes full examinations and tests cannot be done in the home. If, however, you need the doctor to visit you at home, please telephone the surgery before 10am when possible, and give the receptionist your details.

The reception team have been trained to gather information regarding your current problem. This information is used to help them triage your call. It can help determine the urgency of an appointment, the type of appointment you might need and the most appropriate clinician for your issue.

Once they have gathered the information, you will be provided with the next appropriate appointment. In some cases, you may be asked to call back the next day or it may be suggested that you go elsewhere. This will be because your problem may be more urgent than the next available bookable appointment or there may be other services that better suit your needs.

We always aim to ensure that our patients receive the best and most appropriate care and always endeavour to point you in the right direction to receive that care.

The dispensary team require protected time to pick and dispense medications so they are ready for patients to collect.

It is also essential that they update stock and order any items needed for upcoming prescriptions.

Medication for any prescription has to be picked, the patient record updated, each item labelled and packed and then filed ready for collection. This isn’t a quick process and closing for an extra half an hour allows enough time to ensure a quick turn around of prescriptions.
